2008 September > National Lacrosse Championship

Whitby’s Iroquois Park hosted the Ontario Lacrosse Festival August 1-10. The event was a 10-day sport celebration that included the provincial championships of the Ontario Lacrosse Association and the Pee Wee Lacrosse Championship of Canada, a round-robin tournament competition between the best players from across the nation competing as provincial team entries. This year’s event saw close to 5000 participants and their families come to Whitby, with total attendance at the 10 day festival estimated at 38,000, making it the largest youth Lacrosse event in all of North America.
