On September 27th, the dance floor at Johnny B’s Night Club was packed as crowds grooved to the tracks the DJ was spinning. But instead of bottles of beer, it was bottles of milk, fruit and veggie trays replaced chicken wings and last call was for nap-time! Welcome to the Diaper Disco! The party brought families with youngsters under 12 into the club for an afternoon of dancing, face painting and massages for Mum. This tot-friendly event had a room for diaper changes and nursing, and the music was kept at an ear-drum friendly level. A portion of the day’s proceeds were donated to the Valentine Neonatal Care Unit (NICU) at Mount Sinai Hospital. Organizer Leslie Hughes was thrilled with the success of the event and is already planning more.
