Music By The Bay Live Proudly Presents SUZIE VINNICK
2010 Maple Blues Award Winner – Female Vocalist of the Year!
Tickets: $20 Advance / $25 Door
Group discounts available, call 905-831-8661
With the voice of a blues mama who's seen it all Vinnick also plays bass, guitar, saxophone, piano, Dobro, lap steel and mandolin. A self-taught musician, Vinnick is one of the busiest session players and singers in the Canadian blues/roots music and jazz communities, having made appearances on more than a dozen recordings by other artists. Vinnick is a frequent headliner at festivals across the country and in the U.S., and in November shared the Massey Hall stage as musical director and featured artist in the Toronto Blues Society's annual all-star Women's Blues Revue. Possessed of a distinctively alluring voice – once described as being "spun of gold " – she has the power and grace to project it through finely-crafted (and increasingly self-penned) songs that make you sit up and wish you knew her better. An award-winning songwriter, instrumentalist and vocalist, Vinnick has been featured on CBC Radio's Saturday Night Blues with Holger Petersen, and toured with Stuart McLean's Vinyl Café. She has performed for Canadian peacekeepers in Bosnia and the Persian Gulf.
There will be seating for everyone to enjoy the performance in this intimate 100-seat venue. Free parking is available. Enjoy dinner before the show and receive a 10% discount on your meal (food only).
